What you will own

  • Establish a positive climate and classroom with productivity by engaging children with various learning modalities and materials.
  • Ensure classroom arrangement, materials and displays are organized and conducive to children's learning.
  • Provide classroom experiences that are developmentally, linguistically, culturally, and age-appropriate for the children served.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment by Head Start and childcare licensing requirements.
  • Maintain required documentation of activities, including child and family information, assessment data, volunteer logs, etc.
  • Prepare or modify weekly lesson plans to implement in class, including small group activities, read-aloud, circle time, and more.
  • Complete developmental and social-emotional screenings and create theme-based Individualized Learning Plans with specific goals and strategies for all children within prescribed time frames.
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with families by building rapport and trust.

Skills you will bring to the table

  • Possess one of the following: AA/AS/BA/BS in Early Childhood Education OR a state-awarded preschool teacher certification.
  • Bilingual, preferably in Spanish & English
  • Pass a physical examination, and all Head Start/licensing required background checks
  • Maintain current Physical/TB screen requirements.
  • Computer literate, comfortable using email, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office.
